Character Model Creation

This was the first human I ever modeled. My goal was to create a human model for the player and enemy characters. I needed to create the base for which I would model armor ontop of.

Base Body

This body was created using box modeling techniques, and since this project, I have developed better techniques for modeling humans. While I managed to create the proper shape, my model's typology was not as professional as I would have liked.

Head and Armor

I created the head more for fun than anything, as a means of practicing blender. After spending an hour on the face, I redirected my focus to the armor which was a much higher priority. I used planes and the shrink wrap tool in Blender to create the shape of the armor.

Armor Front

Each armor piece was mirrored over the model to ensure symmetry. Since this project was a single semester, I couldn't dedicate as much time to creating full body armor, so instead I focused on covering the most important places of the body.

Armor Back

I also wanted to make sure that player movement was supported by the armor, so I kept a few inches of space between each item.
