Retribution Marketing Material

During the last two weeks of production, I created a number of works to be submitted as marketing material for Retribution. During this time, the marketing was meant to be made by another artist on the team but after a week of no response from her, another 3D artist and I decided to put these together.

Poster

Created using the background of the game's main menu, the player character model, a custom font, and weapon models in Blender and Photoshop. The background was created by our 2D artist in Photoshop. Then, our 3D environment artist rendered the image in Blender to create depth in the buildings. I posed my player character and then photoshopped them into the image. The final touch-ups were done in Photoshop, including adding the guns, placing the people, placing the title, and expanding the background with the spot healing and patch tool.

Vertical Banner

Created using the same techniques as the poster, with the addition of simple silhouetted characters facing one another. I wanted to show that these two people were at odds with one another. The protagonist and antagonist.

Icon

This icon was quickly made from the prism in the background of the game's main menu. This is not my best work but, considering it was made in 10 minutes, I felt it deserved a place in this showcase

Box Art

This box art was made in Photoshop. The goal was to depict the themes of conflict in a cyberpunk future. I wanted to make sure that the weapons were showcased as our weapons artist did a great job, and they are a key component of gameplay. I also made sure to include in-game screenshots to ensure buyers can visualize the style of gameplay they would experience.

Horisontal Banner

The horizontal banner was made similarly to the poster and previous marketing materials. The main challenge we faced was expanding the original art to fit the entirety of the banner. The image was mirrored and stretched slightly, buildings experienced many touch-ups, and Photoshop's patch tool helped the most with expanding the chaotic and random background.
